THE trial of a Gourock man charged more than a year ago with driving whilst intoxicated has been delayed due to the absence of a police witness.
Alan Stocks, 56, who is accused of being behind the wheel of a car whilst unfit through drink or drugs, was due to have his case heard yesterday.
The sheriff court was told that case could not proceed because of a unavailability of a police officer to given evidence.
Stocks, of Ashgrove Avenue in Gourock - who is also charged with possession of cannabis - is said to have committed the alleged offences on January 5 last year.
The case is now due to call again on June 27.
