TWO men have been arrested in connection with a serious assault at Branchton Railway Station.

British Transport Police (BTP) were called to the Greenock train hub after receiving reports of an altercation at around 6.10pm on Sunday evening. 

Several emergency vehicles were seen in the vicinity of the station shortly after the incident. 

The BTP confirmed that two men were detained on suspicion of serious assault before being released. 

A force spokesperson said: “Officers received reports of an altercation that took place at Branchton Railway Station at around 6.10pm on April 28.

“Two men were arrested on suspicion of serious assault and have since been released under investigation.

"Enquiries into this incident are ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016, quoting reference 429 of 28 April 2024.”
