A GREENOCK man accused of assaulting his partner and threatening her father has been ordered to stay away from the woman before a court trial.

Kevin Rice allegedly attacked the female complainer at a property in the town on April 21 this year, with prosecutors claiming he struck her to the face to her injury.

Rice, 32, is charged with behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing, uttering offensive remarks towards the woman and making threats aimed towards her father.

It is also claimed that Rice, of Raven Road, threw and broke household items and struck and damaged household fixtures.

He pleaded not guilty through solicitor Gerry Keenan and a trial has been scheduled for July 11.

Rice has been bailed and ordered not to enter the woman's street or contact her.
