THE main road in and out of Inverclyde has finally reopened after being shut for hours.
The key route had been out of action since early this morning due to flooding brought by Storm Frank.
Blockages at Langbank, Port Glasgow and Greenock have all now been cleared.
The notorious flooding hotspots at East Hamilton Street and Newark roundabout were submerged after heavy rainfall deluged the area and overwhelmed drainage systems, causing misery for motorists.
Maintenance crews have been working to reopen the routes for hours and Traffic Scotland has confirmed that they are now clear.
However motorists heading south towards Ayrshire are still facing problems, as the A78 is shut at Skelmorlie due to high tide and flooding.
