A VEHICLE fire has left a van burnt out in a Greenock street this afternoon.
Police and fire crews attended the scene in Sinclair Street, at the junction with Fairrie Street, around 12pm today (Thursday, June 1).
The vehicle, a frozen foods delivery van, was destroyed following the blaze.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) confirmed there were no casualties from the incident.
A spokesperson for the SFRS told the Telegraph: "We were alerted at 12.04pm on Thursday, June 1 to reports of a vehicle fire in Greenock.
"Operations control mobilised one appliance to the town's Sinclair Street, where firefighters extinguished a fire which had taken hold of a van.
"Crews left the scene after working to make the area safe.
"There were no casualties."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.35pm on Thursday, June 1, 2023, officers received a report of a vehicle on fire on Sinclair Street, Greenock.
“The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
"The fire is not thought to be wilful.”
