THE former Gourock police station is set for a major transformation after Inverclyde Council greenlit proposals to turn it into a business centre.
A 'change of use' application has been approved by the local authority.
The proposals include plans to enlarge the four rear window openings of the building to create four doors.
The remodelled building would contain eight offices, two tea bars, a courtyard and several small garden spaces.
Four of the new offices would be converted from rooms that were previously used as cells.
The Tele reported in August 2021 that the 100-year-old Kempock Place building had been sold off.
When Police Scotland was established, bosses carried out a review of the service's estate and decided to close its public counters in both Gourock and Port Glasgow.
