POLICE say they have launched an investigation following the discovery of a body at a Greenock beauty spot this morning.
Officers sealed off Murdieston Dam when the alarm was raised at around 7.25am.
The public were moved away from the scene, near Wallace Street, with the emergency services in attendance and a cordon set up.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.25am on Thursday, November 2, 2023, police were called to the Murdieston Dam following the discovery of a body.
“Officers are in attendance and enquiries are continuing.”
