A GREENOCK east end street has been closed and a teenager has been rushed to hospital following a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
Emergency services were in attendance at Clynder Road following the collision, which took place at around 8.05am this morning.
The pedestrian, a 17-year-old boy, was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital by ambulance.
The road is shut at its junction with Cardross Crescent and motorists are being advised to use an alternative route.
A bin refuse lorry is within the area that has been cordoned off by the police.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 8.05am on Tuesday, 16 April police received a report of a road crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle on Clynder Road, Greenock
"The pedestrian, a 17-year-old boy, was taken to Queen Elizabeth Univeristy Hospital by ambulance.
"The road is currently closed."
