THE fan-led group that has pumped £750k into Morton and taken control at Cappielow is today celebrating five years since its launch.
Morton Club Together, consisting of more than 1,000 members and patrons, has marked the anniversary with a message of thanks to its donors who continue to back the Ton financially.
It was set up in 2019 by local man Graham McLennan and has made huge strides in a short period of time, completing a community takeover at Cappielow in 2021.
A statement from the MCT board said: “Morton Club Together is all about bringing people together under the banner of supporting each other to create the best possible Morton because it is such an important asset for all of our community to benefit from.
"The simple message, as MCT turns five, is to say a huge and heartfelt thanks to every single individual who has played their part, to date, in helping MCT to do its best to deliver on the above vision.
"These thanks go out to thousands of people. Every MCT member, patron, Morton supporter, community member, club and Morton in the Community staff member, volunteer and in fact everyone who has engaged in any way in the MCT journey.
"As MCT moves into its next phase of playing its part in moving Morton forward, we open our arms to welcome everyone who is currently part of MCT and those who will engage with MCT into the future.”

Since its launch on April 26, 2019, a huge amount of cash has been raised, paving the way for community ownership.
The vast majority of the money has been used to strength manager Dougie Imrie's first team budget and MCT is on target to contribute at least £157,000 this year.
MCT also negotiated the write-off of the multi-million-pound club debt and the transfer of a total of 89 per cent of shares in Morton FC and the entirety of Cappielow Park, meaning that a debt free club is now in the ownership of the community via the organisation.
The club’s Championship status has been secured in each of the past five seasons, with MCT funding helping to tie down players on longer-term contracts.
MCT also played a pivotal role in fighting to keep Morton's youth academy open, supporting the launch of its apprenticeship programme in summer 2023, in a partnership with club sponsor Dalrada.
Tens of thousands of hours of volunteer time have also been contributed by MCT members over the past half a decade, with more volunteers always welcome.
