DRIVERS are being warned to expect disruption when major resurfacing work starts on the A78 in Greenock next week.
Road bosses Amey are undertaking essential maintenance on behalf of Transport Scotland, with overnight road closures and convoys in place as well as temporary traffic lights during the day.
In phase one, which begins on Tuesday, the the junction at Cumberland Road to the dual carriageway will be closed from 8pm and 6am up until Thursday May 16, with temporary lights to control traffic flow during the day.
A78 northbound traffic will be diverted via Bankfoot Roundabout, where it will take the first exit to join the A770. A78 southbound traffic will follow the same diversion route but in reverse.
In the second phase, overnight convoys are to be put in place between Pennyfern Road and Neil Street from 8pm to 6am, from Tuesday May 28 until Thursday May 30.
Temporary traffic lights will be put in place at the Neil Street junction for the duration of the work.
