STAFF at a Greenock restaurant are raising a glass in celebration after the venue won a top prize at national food and drink award ceremony.
Scotts at Greenock Ocean Terminal was recently crowned Newcomer of the Year at the Scotsman Scran Awards.
Now in its second year, the event aims to recognise Scotland’s dining, drinking and hospitality sector and the role it plays in the country’s economic success and profile.
The restaurant was selected by a panel of expert judges despite facing strong competition from Edinburgh’s Cardinal, Dune in St Andrew’s, The Kenmuir Arms and Edinburgh Street Food.
Scotts, which opened its doors last summer, received the award at a lavish ceremony at Platform in Glasgow.
General manager Jenny Barlow said: “Being crowned ‘Newcomer of the Year’ against such strong competition from across Scotland is a truly monumental moment for us.
“Scotts Greenock is Buzzworks’ first restaurant in Inverclyde, and so we’re overjoyed to see that our dedication to providing fantastic dining experiences with outstanding service to match hasn’t gone unnoticed.
“This win is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our amazing staff, who none of this would be possible without.
“We look forward to celebrating this win with the rest of the team and our much-loved guests as we continue to strive to create unforgettable dining experiences for everyone who walks through our doors.”
