POLICE believe that a body they have found in Kilmacolm is that of missing Greenock man Edward Hendry.
They made the grim find yesterday afternoon around 1pm.
Officers from Strathclyde Police Mountain Rescue Team recovered the body following an organised search near Chapel Farm.
Although formal identification is still to take place, the man is believed to be Mr Hendry and relatives have been informed.
Mr Hendry, from MacBeth Road, was last seen near The Haven, in Horsecraigs, Kilmacolm, on 7 December.
Police say that a post-mortem will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death, however, there appear to be no suspicious circumstances.
A full report will also be sent to the procurator fiscal.
