THIS week Ronnie Cowan MP and myself are hosting drop-in sessions at our offices alongside The Wise Group, who’ll be providing those who attend with energy bill support, including fuel vouchers.

Please pop along to my office tomorrow between 10am and 1pm, or Ronnie’s office on Thursday between 1pm and 3pm, if you’re struggling with your energy bills or would like to enquire about wider Wise Group support.

If you can’t attend but need assistance with your energy bills or other cost of living issues, please contact my office on 720930.

Ahead of the Easter weekend, I would like to remind Tele readers to make sure they order any prescriptions they require ahead of time, as GP practices and pharmacies will likely have reduced opening hours.

I attended the annual Visit Scotland Tourism event last week and whilst going around the stall holders, I was hugely impressed by the AccessAble stall. They can be found at www.AccessAble.co.uk. They provide detailed access guides to thousands of places and spaces across the UK and beyond. It is a trusted source by millions of disabled people and is free to use. Some Inverclyde facilities are on it already but others may be interested in this.

Finally, I hosted a roundtable regarding eye health and the various treatments available to deal with Glaucoma. This is a big issue and is only going to increase as we have a growing older population. A key message though was to take up the free eye test every two years. This can lead to better earlier treatment if required.
