I HAVE read with interest the articles and letters regarding the council tax freeze.

One point that was not raised is when, following yet another Labour U-turn, the people of Inverclyde are going to get their promised rebate.

It is now going to be paid in the year 2024/25 and I am very unhappy about that.

This will mean that MY money will be sitting in the council’s coffers when it could be sitting in mine and helping me to deal with the cost of living crisis that we are all going through.

We have also been told that this stunt by the Labour Party in Inverclyde is now going to cost anywhere up to £18,000 to rectify, at more cost to the Inverclyde taxpayers.

This is £18,000 that could have been better spent on council services.
