MORTON development squad striker Scott Miller put four agonising months on the sidelines behind him by scoring in a 2-0 friendly win over Bulgarian outfit Cherno More on Wednesday night.
The Ton Under-20s recently spent two weeks at a pre-season training camp in Varna, and closed out the fortnight with a bounce game.
They recorded a comfortable victory against a Bulgarian top-flight development side, with hitman Miller, below, marking his comeback from a broken collarbone with a goal.
The 16-year-old, who recently signed a two-year full-time deal, tweeted:
“Good to play my first game in four months after my injury and to get a win and a goal.”
Ton head of youth Derek Anderson told the Tele: “The boys took the lead through an own goal in the second minute and Scott added a second on 25 minutes.
“Scott had been out for three to four months with a broken collarbone, and we were delighted for him to score and hit the bar in his first game back.
“It was a game the boys controlled from start to finish, apart from two good saves from Jamie McGowan, and could have scored five or six.”
Morton (4-4-2): McGowan; Duffy (Hynes, 46), Tennent, Mitchell, Strapp; Quitongo (Purdue, 46), Langan (Anderson, 46), Stevenson (Eardley, 46), Tiffoney; Miller, McWaters (Docherty, 46).
