MORTON were handed a home tie against fellow Championship club Dundee United in last night’s Betfred Cup quarter-final draw, setting up a double header with Ray McKinnon’s men.
The Ton earned their place in the hat with an impressive 2-1 win over Premiership Hamilton Accies and will now play a club from the same division for the first time in this term’s competition.
Jim Duffy’s team were already scheduled to travel to Tannadice on Saturday September 24 on league duty and will now make the journey on the back of a final eight clash at Cappielow, with the ties to be played on the midweek of
Tuesday 20 and Wednesday 21 September.
