THEY say that all good things come to an end and unfortunately that was true as Morton’s unbeaten run finished on Saturday in what can only be described as a disappointingly collective display by the team.

I would prefer to acknowledge the brilliant turnaround in performances as the season progressed and hopefully one poor team performance and result doesn’t herald the start of a bad run of results.

On Tuesday through in Kirkcaldy I thought we played really well and deserved at least the point we gained but we did look a little toothless upfront and unfortunately without George Oakley and Jai Quitongo on Saturday we offered very little in attack.

I also think that without our key strikers we will continue to struggle in front of goal so without setting alarm bells ringing we either need them both back immediately or perhaps if possible get someone in on loan.

One bad performance and result should not mean we press the panic button but for the first time in weeks I had a look towards the bottom of the table to see we are only seven points off the relegation playoff position.

But from a positive spin we are still massively in the promotion playoff hunt!
