MORTON boss Dougie Imrie says he expects a busy summer as he remoulds his playing squad.

The manager has confirmed that several of his out of contract stars are mulling over offers of new deals that could see them extend their Cappielow careers.

But there will also be new faces arriving on Sinclair Street as he looks for a freshness moving forward.

He revealed that work is already under way to try and secure new signings, just days after the end of the season.

Imrie told the Tele: “There’s been offers put to players and they’ll be thinking them through.

“There will be some who leave, which is natural, and that means that there will be new players coming in.

“I think at times you need a freshness. So there will be new players coming in and I’m actively speaking to players at the moment.

“It’s just trying to get that pen to paper for the ones that we’re looking to bring in.

“There will be a bit of activity going on over the summer, in the hope that we can assemble a competitive squad to go again in the Championship next season.”
