MORTON have whittled down their squad ahead of this week's pre-season trip to the north of England.
Ton manager Allan Moore has ended the club's interest in Grant Smith, John Kane and Jamie McCluskey.
Those to make the cut include Tony McParland, two unnamed French trialists - a central midfielder and a striker - and a Nigerian centre-forward who showed up well in the club's 4-2 victory against a Nigerian select at Battery Park on Thursday.
Alan Lithgow, the former Clyde defender, has tweaked his hamstring and a decision will be taken on whether to take him today, while ex-Aberdeen pair Jonathan Crawford and Nicky Clark have both picked up injuries and will not travel.
Moore said: "We are openly on the look-out for another centre-half as we only have Stewart Greacen and Marc Smyth just now.
"We are also looking for cover at right back and on the right side of midfield."
