KEVIN McKinlay helped Morton to a clean sheet against his former side Partick Thistle on Saturday - then insisted he needs to work on his attacking play.
The left-back, who spent two seasons at Firhill, admitted he was pleased to keep out his old pals, but also revealed he was frustrated by his offensive contribution.
He said: "We're pleased with a draw here today. We're always pleased with a point when we're away from home.
"I've got a lot of good memories from my time at Thistle. I liked the manager and still have pals here like big Alan Archibald and Willie Kinniburgh, so it's nice to leave with something. We're happy with the defensive performance as that's a couple of clean sheets in a row.
"First and foremost, I'm a defender who prides myself on keeping clean sheets, so that's the priority.
"But I just felt if I could have got a better quality of ball into the box towards the end then it would've given the strikers more of a chance to get us a winning goal.
"The manager has said that to us after the game, so I'll spend time after training working on my crossing, and hopefully I'll deliver next weekend." Ton boss Allan Moore was pleased with the draw. He said: "This was a good point for us away from home.
"Thistle had the upper hand in the first half, but I think we came back into the game in the last 15 minutes without really creating many goalscoring opportunities.
"There wasn't much football played from both teams in the second half. It was usually one touch and straight up the pitch, which was pretty frustrating.
"But we knew it was going to be a scrappy game as both teams are down at the bottom and maybe trying not to get beat rather than trying to win.
"It's probably a better point for us because we're away from home, and it keeps our run going - we're up to two undefeated!" Partick Thistle gaffer Ian McCall was slightly disappointed with the result. He said: "If any team deserved to win the game it was us. I think this is two points dropped today."
