The Belgium-born striker, who has represented Gambia at Under-20 level, joined the club last summer after netting a double in a closed-doors trial match against Motherwell.
The move failed to pay off, however, as Cham struggled to settle and adapt to the Scottish game, scoring three goals in 13 appearances.
He has figured just once under current gaffer Kenny Shiels and both parties have now come to an agreement which sees him depart the club.
Shiels said: “We released a player yesterday: Kabba Cham.
"We had been discussing it for a while now and came to a good compromise agreement."
