As recently as Thursday, Ton boss Jim Duffy had told the Tele he was hoping to have the midfielder fit and available to face Ayr United in today’s League One opener.
However, the Comoros cap has now played his last game for the Greenock club after completing a move to Sweden yesterday.
The Tele understands that Ostersunds paid an as yet undisclosed fee to secure the 24-year-old’s signature.
Former Paris Saint-Germain youth Bachirou was signed in the summer of 2010 by then-Morton manager Allan Moore following a successful trial.
In total, he spent four full seasons at Cappielow in which time he made 127 starts, 14 sub appearances and scored two goals.
France-born Bachirou also made his breakthrough at international level, winning three caps for the Comoros Islands, for whom he was eligible to play due to his ancestry.
