MICHAEL Tidser is gutted a groin injury has prematurely ended his season because he hates missing training, never mind matches.
The midfielder, one of four players nominated for the PFA Scotland First Division Player of the Year award, had been feeling the knock since scoring against Dumbarton on 16 March.
He played through the pain in order to aid Ton's title challenge, but felt he had no choice but to rule himself out after he was left in agony following the 1-0 defeat at Partick Thistle. Although Tidser was recently given the good news that he would not require an operation, he admits it is unlikely that he will play again this term.
He told the Tele: "That's been two weeks I've been resting now, but my groin's still sore so I've been a wee bit worried about it.
"I went for a scan on the adductor muscle last week and it came up saying it was fine and nothing to worry about. I was told I just had to continue to rest it. But I'm choking to get out training and kicking a ball again. I hate not training and not playing on a Saturday.
"I'm definitely out today, and if I'm being totally honest, I'm probably not going to be able to play again this season unless the injury really clears up in the next week."
