BARRIE McKay will be available to play in Morton’s rescheduled match with Queen of the South at Cappielow tomorrow night after his loan deal was renewed.
The 19-year-old joined Ton in an initial one-month switch from Rangers and was set to make his final appearance against the Doonhamers on Saturday. The fixture was abandoned after supporter Andrew Kemp tragically collapsed and died. Both clubs have now agreed to play the match tomorrow night, with a 7.30pm kick-off.
And McKay, who scored the winning goal in Ton’s victory at Livingston, will be available for selection after extending his stay until the end of the current campaign.
Speaking last night, Ton boss Kenny Shiels told the Tele: “Barrie’s loan was extended today.
“That now runs until the end of the season and that’s great news.
“It’s a big bonus for us.
“Rangers were easy to deal with. It was good.
“Ally [McCoist] rang me today just to confirm, so everything’s sorted.
“They’re happy to see him playing first-team football and Barrie’s delighted. He’s enjoying playing every week.” Further details surrounding tomorrow’s rearranged fixture have not been released as yet but will be announced by the club later today.
