MORTON manager Jim Duffy has confirmed that winger Aidan Fulton is no longer training with the club.
The out-of-contract 20-year-old, who made 19 appearances and scored one goal in a Ton shirt, was given an opportunity to return to Parklea for pre-season training in order to impress and earn a new deal.
But new boss Duffy was unable to get a proper look at the former Celtic and St Mirren youth after he missed much of pre-season due to a thigh problem.
He told the Tele: “Aidan had a stop-start pre-season and couldn’t really get himself 100 per cent fit due to a few wee niggly things.
“By that time, we had Mark Russell, Jordan [Allan], Ricki [Lamie] who were all left-sided and we didn’t really need anyone on that side.
“We also brought Robbie [Crawford] in, and he can play in that area of the pitch. It was just unfortunate for the boy.
“He’s obviously got ability and we wish him well.”
