SCOTLAND'S best-selling female artist Barbara Dickson is coming to the Beacon.

The iconic singer and actress is promising an 'intimate' show in Greenock to celebrate her record breaking career in music, on stage and on TV screens.

She will be perform the million-selling number one single I Know Him So Well as well as other hits from a career spanning five decades.

Tickets go on sale tomorrow for her performance in Inverclyde, one of only five Scottish dates on her show.

"Barbara has been a huge part of Scotland’s national soundtrack for some five decades and we are really excited that she will share her extraordinary back catalogue with our audience in a new and intimate way.

Band of Gold actress Barbara, who is an OBE, is taking to the road again after a sell out farewell tour which marked the end of her time performing on stage with a full live band.

She will 'reimagine' her music alongside keyboard player Nick Holland, who she has worked with for the last 20 years.

The singer emerged from the Scottish folk scene in the 1960s before going on to enjoy mainstream chart success.

She has earned six platinum, 11 gold and seven silver albums.

Her stage career has included the roles of the original Mrs Johnstone in Willy Russell’s long-running musical Blood Brothers and as Viv Nicholson in Spend Spend Spend, both of which won her Olivier awards for best actress.

Her Greenock show is on Monday October 14 at 7.30pm. Tickets for the performance go on sale on Friday May 3 and can be purchased through the Beacon Arts Centre website.
