HALKSHILL AND BLAIR PARK, LARGS, NORTH AYRSHIRE
Proposal for the Establishment of a Mixed Forest
An application has been made to the Central Scotland Conservancy of Forestry Commission Scotland under the Environmental Impact Assessment (Forestry) (Scotland) Regulations 1999 for tree planting and associated works on Halkshill and Blair Park Farms, above Largs, North Ayrshire.
A copy of the Environmental Statement will be available for public viewing for a period of 28 days at the Largs Library, 26 Allanpark Street, Largs, Ayrshire, KA30 9AG, North Ayrshire Council, Cunninghame House, Irvine, KA128EE and at the Forestry Commission Scotland Hamilton office. Within the total farm area of 1397 hectares, 612 hectares (or 45% of the gross area) is proposed for woodland creation (510 hectares of conifer and 102 hectares of native broadleaves) to add to the 31 hectares of existing broadleaves with open ground amounting to 752 hectares being retained. Any comments on the scheme should be submitted in writing to Forestry Commission Scotland, Central Scotland Conservancy, Bothwell House, Hamilton Business Park, Caird Park, Hamilton, ML3 0QA or by email to centralscotland.cons@forestry.gsi.gov.ukwithin the 28 day consultation period.

The Forestry Commissioners may decide either to grant consent subject to the standard conditions required by Regulation 18 of the EIA Regulations, or subject to such further conditions as they see fit or refuse consent.
