GILL - Philip Suddenly at Inverclyde Royal Hospital on Thursday 25th July 2024, Philip Joseph Gill, aged 90, beloved husband of the late Flora Keogh, dearly loved dad of Elizabeth, Marie and the late Con, much loved granda Phil to his grandchildren Mark, Gill, Courtney, Emma and Megan and his great grandchildren Finn, Esme, Caelan, Logan and Cohen, father in law and friend to Colin and Danny and dear brother of Mary and the late Jim, Billy and Con. Fortified by Rites of the Holy Catholic Church. May he rest in peace. Philip will be received into St. Mary's R.C. Church, Patrick Street, Greenock on Friday 9th August prior to the 10am Funeral Mass and thereafter to Greenock Crematorium. Family flowers only please. A retiral collection will be taken in aid of Ardgowan Hospice.

Phil's wife Betty, her children Brian, Debbie and Angela, her grandchildren Jordan, Amy, Erinn, Eve, Lyndsey, Natalie, Anna and Grace, her great grandchildren, Ellena, Archie, Lawrie, Meadow and Goldie would like to pass on our condolences at this saddest of times. Phil provide great comfort for Betty during her illness.

Well what words to say on this amazing man. I was asked by family to carry out some jobs I Flora and Phil’s houses. I know the family so well. Liz and Marie and their husbands all their children are so lovely. But Phil was amazing golf, football chat never changed always magical. An absolute pleasure and honour to say goodbye on his journey in life . God Bless you Phil. 🙏🙏🙏

Phil was a fantastic person, I worked with him in Ferguson’s shipyard, and I knew Con well, and went to the games with him.
I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Phil, he was great character, and like myself was fond of a wee hauf.
