The Childcare Management Company were delighted to learn they had been selected for the final round of Scotland's Modern Apprenticeship Awards.
The Pottery Street-based firm was selected as a contender in the Skills Development Scotland Award category, which seeks to find the country's best small employer for companies with fewer than 50 staff.
The local firm provides training courses to help childcare establishments meet legal requirements and also offers on-the-job training.
They look after establishments in Inverclyde and others in Glasgow, Ayrshire, Dumbartonshire and Lanarkshire.
Lorraine O'Neill, from the Childcare Management Company, said: "We are a relatively new business and our aim is to be the best childcare training provider in Scotland and to have a lasting and significant relationship with each client and each student.
"Hearing that we are finalists is a great morale boost for all of our staff and shows all the hard work and quality processes which have been implemented by all the team over the past few years hasvepaid off." The Greenock finalists will now travel to Glasgow's Science Centre on 21 November for the awards ceremony.
