GREENOCK firefighters had to force their way into the local police club - to rescue a man who fell asleep in there overnight!
He woke up early on Saturday morning in a toilet cubicle, and realised with a shock that the event he had been attending the night before was finished and everyone else had gone home.
The man, who has not been named, then automatically set off the alarms when he walked out of the toilet to try to escape from the deserted Thom Street premises.
He called the fire brigade for help, and they forced their way into the club at 7am.
A fire brigade spokesman said: "He'd had a good sleep, and was none the worse for his experience."
