PLANS have been unveiled for a brand new burger restaurant in Gourock.
Bosses of BRGR - a chain with restaurants in Glasgow, Giffnock and Edinburgh - are looking at opening a branch in an empty tenement building in between John Street and Shore Street.
Gourock based Richard Robb Architects have been tasked with refurbishing the building and are ready to submit a planning application for the restaurant on behalf of their clients.
Dawn Smith, an architectural assistant at the company, said: "Planning permission has been submitted to carry out remedial repair work to this tenement building and its bay windows and restore it to a sound condition.
"We are also drawing up some ideas for a new BRGR restaurant potentially coming to Gourock.
"This privately-owned business currently operates successfully in Glasgow's West End and Giffnock - and it's great to see businesses interested in investing in Inverclyde
"Gourock is rightly proud to be home to a range of individual traders and businesses - it would be great to add one more to the mix and see a derelict building brought back to life.
"The mock up shows a computer generated image of the brand frontage."
Dawn said that any work to the building would be in-keeping with the local area.
She added: "It's really nice inside and has quite unusual details.
"We hope to open it up to the public and keep the original features."
Before submitting a planning application, the company are keen to gauge public opinion on their plans.
Dawn added: "The owner is keen to get feedback from people in Inverclyde."
