RETAIL giant Next is recruiting 25 people to work in its eagerly-awaited new store in Port Glasgow, the Tele can reveal.
Bosses at the clothing, footwear and home products retailer have this week launched a recruitment drive as the countdown to the grand opening continues.
The new store at the Port Glasgow Retail Park is due to begin trading in around three months.
Next management have pencilled in November 29 for the opening date but say it could be subject to change.
A spokeswoman at the company told the Tele: “The area manager has said that there will be approximately 25 vacancies.
“All vacancies will go online this week and through the jobcentre.”
The news brings another important retail jobs boost for the area.
The Telegraph revealed last week how Burger King is set to recruit a 50-strong workforce at its new drive-through restaurant at the former Clydeport Filling Station on Greenock Road in Port Glasgow.
Marks and Spencer have also confirmed they have created 40 posts for their new megastore in the Port retail park, which is set to open on Thursday September 7.
Meanwhile Poundworld, which is also preparing to move into the retail park, is taking on 30 employees.
