THE second dual fuel ferry under construction for CalMac at Ferguson’s of Port Glasgow has not been named yet, its owners stressed.
Port-based Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (CMAL), who own the ships and harbours operated by CalMac, said there had been some recent media coverage referring to it as ‘MV Claymore’.
A spokeswoman said: “The second ferry has not been named yet, and is currently known as Hull 802.
“As usual, CMAL will run a public vote competition with a shortlist of names to allow the public to help choose the name. This will be run at some point next year.”
The ferry is being built for the Skye ‘triangle’ route.
Sister ship, MV Glen Sannox, was launched by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon on Tuesday, and is destined for the Ardrossan to Arran service.
