A GREENOCK bar is preparing to host a mini festival in aid of a local charity.
West bar and kitchen on west Blackhall Street will host their mini festival named ‘WestFest’ on September 23.
The event will feature live music performances from local acts including Anthony McElwee, John Patton and Ross and Josh of Black Dove.
As well as live music there will be a raffle, with prizes donated from local businesses and all proceeds going to Ardgowan Hospice.
Entry to the event is free but manager Callum Pearson is encouraging guests who attend to make donations at the door for the charity.
He said: “We’re really excited to be holding this event and have some great musicians lined up.
“West Bar & Kitchen is a community focused business and we want to recognize the excellent work Ardgowan Hospice does by donating all proceeds from the door and raffle to the hospice.”
Callum has been praised for his efforts by fundraising officer at Ardgowan Hospice, Alex Mula.
He said: “It’s fantastic to have this support from local businesses in the community and we hope this could become a regular fixture in the calendar.
“The demands on hospice services increase each year, which means we have to find new supporters to help fund what we do. We’re very grateful to Callum and everyone at West for hosting this event.”
