A 47-YEAR-OLD has been arrested in connection with a major disturbance in Gourock yesterday.
Armed police and emergency services rushed to Shore Street responding to reports of a man vandalising a property.
The road was cordoned off for over two hours and police managed to enter the flat to deal with the situation.
A spokesman from Police Scotland said: "At 6.15am police and other emergency services attended calls to somebody vandalising a flat in Gourock.
"Officers, including firearms officers, attended and following negotiations the man was detained within the house at 8am.
"The female householder was found safe and well and did not require any medical treatment.
"A 47-year-old man has been arrested and reported to the procurator fiscal.
"He was taken to Inverclyde Royal for treatment."
