CUSTOM House Quay was bursting with colourful characters and music as a new national theatre show hit the harbourside.
Crowds enjoyed a carnival atmosphere as the Oceanallover troupe launched their new pop-up theatre tour outside the Beacon.
The theatre company has close ties with the arts centre and chose the waterfront location for their latest piece of outdoor art, Orographic.
Audiences were entertained by a unique fusion of street theatre, costume design and live music inspired by the artist Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
It turned out to be a picture perfect setting for the show before it makes its way around the rest of the country.
Producer Jill Smith said: "We were delighted to be back at the Beacon.
"We have been involved in the Galoshans festivals and we wanted to launch Orographic in Greenock.
"We love the Beacon and there is always such a lovely, warm crowd in Inverclyde.
"We had brilliant local audiences intrigued to experience something out of the ordinary and it was the perfect way to kick off our Scotland-wide tour."
The street theatre company will also be performing another show Transfigured at the Merchant City this weekend and they will then move onto the Edinburgh Fringe next month.
Their outdoors theatre show launched at the Beacon has also caught the attention of Scotland's public body supporting the arts.
Creative Scotland’s Janie Lumsden said: Oceanallover’s production Orograpahic is an innovative work of the highest artistic integrity and ambition. "This tour will enable people across Scotland, from the islands to Greenock, to engage with an excellent quality visceral spectacle."
