A WOMAN has died after a late night road crash in Greenock.
The accident happened in Shankland Road around 11.15pm last night, when a grey Ford Fiesta left the road.
The 38-year-old driver was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital, where she later died.
Police are today appealing for anyone with any information on the crash to get in touch.
Sergeant Roy McCarney of the Road Policing Unit, said: “The woman's family have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
“We are carrying out enquiries and would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have witnessed this to contact us.
“I would also appeal to any motorists who were driving in the area and who might have dashcam footage which could assist us to get in touch.”
