WORK has restarted on a project to replace the glazed carriageway which runs through the Municipal Buildings in Greenock's Clyde Square.
It is being renewed as part of the ongoing repair and refurbishment of the council’s historic HQ.
The estimated cost for the work, which was interrupted by the lockdown restrictions, is £350,000.
It was required to address the poor condition of the existing glazed roof and bosses say it will also improve access for future maintenance of the buildings.
The work will establish removable panels for access above, whereas before this was only possible by taking out sealed-in glazing.
