A GREENOCK pub is set to reopen under new management after being closed for almost a year.
The Carnock Bar shut after the previous licensee gave it up, but another publican is making preparations to take it over.
Brian Keenan has been given the green light by the licensing board to run the premises.
Councillor Ronnie Ahlfeld, who is chair of the board, said: "Another operator has come along who has a personal licence.
"He has worked well with the council but it is not his intention to open straight away.
"He is looking to do all the work needed to get the bar back up to scratch and speak to council officials, such as environmental health and licensing standards before he reopens."
