INVERCLYDE is the cheapest place to buy a house in Scotland.
New figures released yesterday in the UK House Price Index show that the average property price tag in the area as of September this year stood at £97,723.
This has fallen by seven per cent from last year's figure of £105,068
The most expensive place to buy a property is the City of Edinburgh at £280,154.
Inverclyde is also well below the Scottish average which rose by 4.3 per cent from last year to £161,510.
