BIG hearted local businessmen are brewing up a great way to support a men's mental health group.

'The Morton Roast' is the latest product launched by online retailer Clyde Coffee Club.

The firm is run by Michael Frizzel, Symon Bleasdale and Gianluca Demelas.

The businessmen decided to launch the product to support Morton in the Community's 'TeamTalk' initiative - a mental health support group for men in Inverclyde.

As well as proceeds from the special roast going towards the running of the group, they have also supplied them with their own bags of coffee to be enjoyed during their socially distanced meetings at Cappielow.

Blair Kelly, a brand ambassador for CCC, said: "I actually left Morton in the Community to go and work for Clyde Coffee Club, so I know the work that the group do is brilliant.

"We are a local business and wanted to support a local group, so it makes a difference when we know first-hand just how vital the group are to the community.

"It's been very well received so far and we've had great feedback."

TeamTalk has taken off since it was established a few years ago.

It offers a relaxed, social environment where men can get together and chat about everything and anything - including their wellbeing.

The group continued to meet during lockdown via Zoom.

Jonny Roy of Morton in the Community is delighted with the support from the coffee club for the group's work.

He said: "We're so thankful to Blair and the team for thinking of us and creating this to raise funds.

"Due to social distancing measures we've been having our Team Talk meetings outside, which at this time of the year is freezing!

"Having a hot drink honestly makes such a difference and keeps us going during our meetings."

The coffee retailers roast the coffee locally at Bogston after it has been imported from Colombia and it is on sale at the Coffee Haus on Cathcart Street.
