OVER £200,000 has been raised to get the iconic Waverley paddle steamer back on the water.
Waverley Excursions launched the Covid-19 Relief Appeal last year following the ship’s crash at Brodick Pier on Arran.
The iconic paddle steamer had only just returned to service when it crashed on September 3 after departing from Greenock's Custom House Quay earlier in the day with a contingent of people from Inverclyde on board.
The crash injured 24 people, with a number of them having to be taken to hospital, and an investigation by the Marine Accident Investigation Branch is ongoing.
The iconic vessel is currently in Glasgow for its winter refit, which is expected to cost around £350,000.
But the biggest expense will be drydocking the ship in Greenock in April for her annual out of water survey.
