A LARKFIELD man has been charged with attempting to 'throttle' a 17-year-old youth during an alleged domestic disturbance.
Bernard Groenewald, 55, is also accused of slapping a woman on the head, seizing her hair and throwing her to the floor.
Groenewald is said to have committed the alleged offences in the early hours of the morning on January 10.
Prosecutors say he shouted, swore, made threats of violence and damaged a door and mobile phone during the alleged incident at a property in the east end of Greenock,
Groenewald, of Banff Road in Larkfield, pleaded not guilty at the sheriff court through his lawyer Aidan Gallagher and was allowed bail.
The matters are due to call again on March 16, ahead of a trial scheduled for April.
