A PORT Glasgow man charged with carrying out a blade attack to severe injury and permanent disfigurement is set to for a sheriff and jury trial in April.

Kevin McGourlick, 37, is said to have struck another man on the head with a knife or similar instrument and repeatedly tried to hit him with a hammer.

Prosecutors say the alleged attack took place at the Port's Kelburn Terrace on April 12 2019.

McGourlick, of School Road, has pleaded not guilty through lawyer David Tod.
