A MAN has been charged with forcing open and stealing from cars at Greenock Golf Club — then going on an alleged eight-vehicle vandalism spree.
Jamie Hill, 28, is accused of helping himself to whisky and golf clubs from a BMW 1 Series M Sport and Volvo V40.
Prosecutors say he later robbed a woman after allegedly threatening her in a Larkfield street.
Hill is also charged with vandalising the windscreens of numerous cars in the area.
He is said to have targeted a Volkswagen Golf, Kia Soul, Vauxhalls Astra, Corsa and Mokka and three other vehicles between Nairn Road and Banff Road.
The Crown says all of the alleged offences were committed on August 26, 2019.
Hill, of Greenock's Davey Street, is accused of making threats of violence against a woman whilst brandishing a golf club and bottle at her.
He is said to have also made demands for money and robbed her of cash on Banff Road.
Hill has pleaded not guilty to a total of 12 indictment charges through lawyer David Tod at the sheriff court.
The case is due to call again in March.
