A STRIKE could be looming at West College Scotland in Greenock.
The EIS-FELA union has opened a ballot for industrial action in a row over tutor roles and fears that they will be used to replace lecturers.
Colleges Scotland described the move as 'extremely disappointing in the midst of a global pandemic'.
A spokesperson said: "Staff and students have already had a very difficult and challenging year and it seems a great pity that further unnecessary disruption will be caused by the proposed EIS-FELA action.
“We have made it clear to the EIS-FELA that there is no national plan to replace lecturers with tutor/assessor/instructor roles nor any other support staff roles."
Talks will be held between the unions and management on Wednesday in a bid to find a peace deal.
