A GREENOCK pet store has raised almost £3,000 for a local animal charity.
Pets at Home at Container Way handed over £2,928 to the Royal Heart Greyhound Rescue based at Langbank.
The charity received a cash boost after the store undertook a fundraiser over the festive period for their own charitable cause and the Langbank rescue.
Store manager Gail Seery said: "We were truly amazed by the result and honoured to have raised such a great amount.
"I would like to thank the team and I would also like to thank our wonderful customers who donated."
Lesley Roberts from Royal Heart Greyhound Rescue added: "It has been a very hard year for the rescue and there has been no opportunity to fundraise ourselves - we have been really struggling to make ends meet.
"We can't thank the store enough for everything that they have done for us - we really could not have managed without their support."
