A man has been rushed to hospital after taking unwell whilst being stopped by police on a Greenock street earlier today.
The individual is believed to have fallen ill on Bank Street this afternoon.
A large police presence surrounded the scene after the incident around noon and officers sealed off stairs leading into Well Park.
Multiple police vehicles and an ambulance were in attendance.
Police confirmed that the individual was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 12.10 pm this afternoon, Wednesday, 10 February, 2021, a man took unwell whilst being stopped by officers on Bank Street, Greenock.
"He has been taken by ambulance to Inverclyde Royal Hospital in Greenock."
No further updates on the condition of the individual or why he was stopped are available at this time.
