A GREENOCK woman has been charged with an alleged bone-breaking assault to severe injury on another female.

Sarah Marner, 27, is said to have forced the alleged victim to the ground and repeatedly struck her on the body.

Prosecutors say that Marner 'caused broken bones' in the woman's wrist as a result of the alleged attack at the town's Roxburgh Street on March 3 last year.

Marner, of Roxburgh Street, has had a plea of not guilty maintained in her absence from the latest calling of the case at the sheriff court by lawyer Aidan Gallagher.

A summary trial before a sheriff is due to take place on March 10.
