THIEVES have targeted and stolen from cars parked in two Gourock streets — without any obvious damage to the vehicles.
Perfume and a laptop computer were taken during the incidents at Cowal View and Carnoustie Avenue in Trumpethill.
The thefts occurred between 1pm on Tuesday and 9.30am on Wednesday.
Sergeant Jason Logsdon, of Greenock police, said: "Although police have no specific information about how these vehicles are being accessed, it is really worth taking time to stop and think about what additional security measures you can take to make prevent you becoming a victim of crime.
"Double check your vehicle is locked when leaving it unattended.
"Remove any valuables from your car overnight.
"If your car has keyless entry and locking please take extra care to ensure you vehicle is locked.
"Keep your car keys in a safe place, preferably not next to the front door.
"We are making enquiries into these thefts at present and are seeking the assistance of the public to let us know if they have seen or heard anything suspicious, particularly around parked cars.
"Police will be conducting additional patrols around the areas affected."
"We would ask everyone to check their dash cam footage or other CCTV footage.
"Anyone who may have had a similar experience but has not reported it should do so by calling 101 or Crimestoppers.
